O.T. Internet connection sharing

I wonder if anyone can shed some light on a problem I have .
I've connected my computer which is running XP and is connected to the net
via modem, to my sons computer using the internet sharing set-up that XP
uses.
My sons machine is on Win 98se, all works well apart from when he starts his
machine when mine is already running his try's to access the net every time.
I have narrowed the problem down using msconfig and found it to be a program
called qmmgr or qm manager.
If I take loadqm of the start menu in msconfig the fault goes away.
Sorry for the long explanation but this program only seems to have been
loaded at the same time I loaded the connection sharing.
Does anyone know what it does ? and could I just leave it unchecked and
forget about it.

Regards

Bob

Its part of one of the newer versions of MSN Messenger, it can be disabled.  Or just don't have
messenger try to load on startup.
