Alright guys, I'm pi**ed off. I live in the UK and I have been connected to
the internet for years. I recently looked at getting Broadband, but I can't
because BT are a bunch of f****** w******. Sorry about the profanity but I
am *really* annoyed. My internet connection is getting slower by the second.
In 19 minutes online I have received 674,197 bytes. Gee-whiz. I am not
upgrading to anything short of Broadband, but my current ISP is completely
sh*t. I have tried a load and they are all pretty bad (although the ntl one
my uni force me to use is pretty good - but I can only use that for 24 weeks
a year).

Does anybody know of a relatively fast free 56k connection to the internet,
on which it is possible to play NR2002? I can easily do this at uni on the
ntl system, so my computer has no problem, just my home isp.

BTW, before you state the obvious, there is no way to use that ntl
connection at home, its a uni thing.

free and *** dont work sorry.....

15 a month for http://www.racesimcentral.net/ is the best ISP i know off...not free
but a great *** isp for 24/7 access....

Btopenworld at 10 a month is functional...free isps are overloaded, slow,
laggy, warpy and awful....no such thing as free and good....youll need to
spend atleast 10 a month as a student i adivse drinking 4 less pints of
beer a month :) you can do it, 6 pints you got claranet...

I second that. I've been on ClaraNet for donkeys years and they have always
been excellent. Speed seems better tham other ISP's I know of and I always
connect up at either 52kbps or 50.6kbps at the worst.

Also check if you can get ADSL in your area. if you can you can get up to
512k downloads for between 25 and 30 ppm. Unfortunately I live just out of
town and the BT F***Wits have upgraded my exchange yet:-(

I'm on ntlworld through a BT line, at a minimum *phone* bill of
15/month (i.e. I get 15 of free calls).

Connections are pretty reliably quick and it's unlimited access,
although there is one of those damn 2-hour disconnects.
