Joystick problems in ICR2

I have a CHPro and a small stick type j/s plugged in as j/s 1 and j/s 2
respectively. This is great for flight sims but the CHPro is far too
big and clumsy for driving with. If I select j/s 2 as my controller in
icr2 it dosn't work. Everything calibrates correctly and it recognizes
the j/s when selecting controls but when I jump in the car - nothing.
I can configure j/s 2 buttons for up/down shifting and j/s 2 y-axis
for accelerate/brake and j/s 1 x-axis for steering and that works
fine. I can swap the j/s 1 and 2 functions and use 2 for steering
and 1 for accel/brake and that works fine as well. As soon as I select
j/s 2 for BOTH accel/brake and steering it stops working! Is this a
known bug? It's a real pain to have to reach around and physically unplug
the sticks when I want to go driving.
