For a Brit your not half bad. (grin!).
AMirra
<<Francophillia is a national past-time in the UK>>
The word for which you were grasping is Francophobia; Francophilia (one
"l") is a love of all things French, which I understand is an
exceptionally rare condition, except in France...

Em excuuuuuuuuse me - bashing the French may be a national pastime for
the rosbeefs down in England, but it certainly isn't in Scotland.
England does not constitute the UK for your info.
I do recall Winston Churchill's quotation - "A book of quotations is a
very useful thing for an uneducated man to have". Just because someone
said it and you are unable to refute it, doesn't mean that it is
correct.
Some things are fun and worthy of a little teasing, but racism,
bigotry and parochialism are not among them.
Cheers!

Agreed! I play basketball with some close friends of another race.
We have some fun with a little teasing but I would NEVER make
comments like I've seen in this thread in a public forum. We are
known here only by the words we type. You never know how
seriously your words will be taken, especially by people you don't
even know. Please be careful Ya'll.
As for Ymenard, I am pretty sure I saw an old post where he said
he was 11 years old. Now he says he's 18. If he really is only 11
or 12 then that might help to explain his actions whether or not he
happens to be French Canadian.

'bout time we wrapped this line up methinks. I count over 200 posts
now related to Menards original statement. This waste of bandwidth by
us all (myself included) should end soon, very soon.

I am Homer of Borg. Resistance is....Ooooh, donuts.
Now you in the USA now KNOW what the Rest of Canada has been putting up
with from Quebec for the past 30 Years!

Please, I beg of you all, DON'T let this be the start of another flame
war. Just when Yves Francois Menard finally pipes down ... not that I
don't think he'll be back...

As public as this forum or any newsgroup is, there is something called
"decency" and "respect." Those are spread pretty thin around here...

Only if you refer to them as "pommes fritte".
