I forget what the basic kit model is, something like $700 - 1000 if I
remember correctly (which is about what a TSW/ECCI wheel costs). I know some
people look at it as being a seat with a wheel and peddles attached, but the
steering and peddle feel is really second to none (at least for me). The
fact that it has this nifty***pit (that I believe is modeled after a 96
Williams GP car) adds to it.
Funny, I never noticed the warranty stuff.
I know that Rory (the guy that runs Hyperstim Canada) supplied 6 or 10 units
to the Players Racing Indy car team a number of seasons back. They took them
around to a number of races (mainly in Canada), and had various yahoos
beating on them literally all day long and had no problems whatsoever.
I'd say that if you have warranty concerns, email Rory directly and ask.
Mine's been just fine and completely glitch free for the past 3+ years.
Also, they're going to be coming out with a USB version quite soon, and
another version to hook up to a Playstation/xBox/etc as well (if you're into
that sort of thing).
