I've made a***pit of part from the local Salvage lot.
I have a Car Seat, Gas break and Clutch assy, Hurst Shifter. All
Fastended to a skid made from 2x4's. It sits under an adjustable
drafting table.
The best part is the working Clutch and StickShift. I have been
looking into pattending the technology.

I drop my office chair to minimum height, and tilt the base
back fully (the backrest tilts with it but remains
relatively upright).

Can you do that on N4? I have plenty of space on my desk to put 2 more
monitors.. it is a L desk which would be perfect for it

Wow.  I take it GPL has built-in support for 3 monitors.

I would probably get motion sickness in front of all that, though.

I don't see why you couldn't. Client-server-client, tweaking their custom
view to match it correctly instead of keeping both clients with left and
right views pressed down all the time.

You shouldn't even need powerfull PC's as the client views can easily go
down to 640x480 with minimum graphics.  It'll give you a blurry effect also
to have less crispt resolution.

Can the 3-monitor setup be used in online races?

Looks like the sole of your shoe got stuck to your throttle pedal ;)
Awesome piece of work though :)

Ok, any way to do it online?

It works online with GPL ....You just join the race with all 3 computers.

Yes it can....I've done some limited testing and it worked surprisingly well
using a 28.8
dialup connection and Win98 Internet Connection Sharing.

Well I do not think that would work very well with N4, especially on OLR.

Too bad, would be a fun setup to use

From what I understand, yes. But it will cost the server 3
connections. What I mean is you will have to connect 3 computers to
the server so if you have 19 people that want to race, 2 of them are
going to be unable to connect.

See in order to have three screens in GPL you have to use 3 seperate
computers. Then each computer is set to a certain camera view and
there you go. I think the only way to do this is online.

I'm running a Hyperstimulator Model 3000. I don't have any complaints about
it. The kits are about the same as a TSW or other high end wheel.

And yes, they're still in business:

Tony,

Yer right: for ca. $3,000 US, you get a high-end wheel, pedals, racing seat,
and chassis tub.  Not bad.  Wonder why the don't offer a US warranty, tho
(and their site lists an address in BC under the finder for "Ontario" --
that ain't exactly just the other side of town!).
