Speedvision's Inside Nascar?

Speedvision's Inside Nascar?

Is that program on anymore?  I know Nascar is limiting the access other
programs get to thier footage now....but is the fact Schrader and Waltrip
tied
so closely to yesterday's events the reason it wasn't on today...or was
it canceled prior to the season?

It's "cancelled", sort of.

The last I got was that NASCAR didn't renew rights for the name "Inside
Winston Cup Racing", and Fox hasn't released rights for footage from any
races.  This pretty much ends the show.  Speedvision stated that Kenny,
Mikey and Johnny wanted to "do something", so they're looking at a new show,
new name, and new format (possibly doing a pre-race format, which avoids the
Fox footage licensing issue).  I think it was Waltrip that said that if they
do something it might be in March.  Anyway, that's all unverified heresay
because I'm not looking to find that link to the Speedvision page I'm
referring to, but I'll say this:
IWCR was the best NASCAR show.  I liked the friendly, accessible, charming,
down-home (some say, "low budget") format.  Their format seems to mirror
what it's like to participate in NASCAR, and what it's like to be a NASCAR
fan.  For me personally, I *needed* to hear Kenny and Mikey talk about
Daytona.  I'm certain it would have helped me get through my own regrets,
but it doesn't look like this is going to happen because of NASCAR and Fox
licensing issues.

Thanks for that question and answer.  I was looking through my tv guide just
this evening and wondering when/if it was on again.   Great show... I hope
that they're able to put it together again.  Even my wife liked it (or maybe
it was just Mikey that she liked).  :-)

well it's former form and format has been pretty much been "canceled" but
those invovled are still hoping to do some type of show in the future. What
a shame to lose such a truly great show too. Damn this new TV deal to hell.
This shit is really pissing me off.

Fox owns 1/3rd of Speedvision.  The whole things isn't related just to Fox,
NASCAR is doing some political push on the whole media thing also.

IWCR was easily my best show of 2000.  Perhaps low-cost, but hey no other
show had me glued on each Monday night.  Hopefully something will happen,
something similar to it will be on Speedvision.  Perhaps they could do
Inside CART Racing.  F1 is out of reach of course if they want drivers ;-)

Anybody knows it's ratings? Pre-race would be quite good, but it's still not
the same :(

What stinks is that the best show you could had (a post-Daytona with MW and
Kenny) is impossible mostly because of corporate greed.  I also *needed*
such thing personally.

DirecTV sticks SpeedVision in with an expensive Sports 'upgrade' that I have
no need for, so the less on SpeedVision, and the more on normal
Cable/Satellite, the better as far as I'm concerned :)

Actually, the big news is that NASCAR's high-handed credentialling has cost
it live ESPN coverage on NASCAR 2Nite, etc.

Well it didn't air/cablecast here in the Pacific Northwest(Washington
State, USA)  But a 1 hour recap by a British station of the American
Motorola Cup
was shown in it's place.
