GP2 compared to ICR2

Only in that they are open wheeled cars. The GP2 car handles much
differently than ICR2. Also, you have brake-lock and wheelspin to
contend with (very desirable features to me, the wheelspin can be
disabled if desired). The racing starts are as per GP racing (no pace
lap). GP2 has only "local" yellows", etc. Overall, I like both sims. I
do notice that I seem to drive GP2 more than ICR2, though. Final thought
on ICR2/GP2: Very different animals.

GP2's biggest downside is that it's *very* CPU intensive. That is,
graphic acceleration isn't helpful. I have a P233MMX, and I STILL have
to leave off some graphic detail in GP2. However, in all fairness, I
used to run GP2 on my old P75... and if you lop off enough graphic
detail, it will drive okay... barely.  On your P133, it should be even
better. Also, you might consider overclocking your P133 up to something
like P166?  Biggest trick will be finding GP2, for it's FIA license has
expired, and Microprose has let it drop from their line.

Hope this helps...

Can anyone tell me if Grand Prix 2 is anything like ICR2?
I've tested several racing games, and only ICR2 works very well on my cpu
P 133, 80 ram, 3 hardrives (256, 1.6g, 4.3g), and which graphic cards do you
people reccomend?
thanx

GP2 is lame compared to ICR2 ! A p133 will not run it with full graphics .
The Papyrus sims are the best period ! Get a 3d card ( verti 2100\2200 for
icr2 ) or TNT or any voodoo card .

GP2 will run fine on your system. I originally had this
running on a p 75 with only 8 Mb ram when it came out. You
will need to turn the sky feature off and some other detail,
and will notice slower frame rates at the start of races.

A decent 2d card is all you need. There is no 3d
acceleration involved here.
Regards Mark.

If you qualify on the pole or the front row the slower frame
rates at the start of races is solved :-) Urr, provided you
make a good start ;-)

GP2 ran fine on my P100 with 16MB RAM (now I have a P166 with
48MB) if you turn off some details. Hit the button 'O' to
check your CPU occupancy during gameplay. If you don't drive
with the 'helmet' view you should be fine ;-) (hell I don't
know how you CAN drive with the 'helmet' view) Oh, the CPU
occupancy in helmet view is about 300% on my P166.
