LOL!
Well...you've been here too long to be considered a troll so you probably
won't get too much response, mate.

Personally, after reading the articles on Gamespot, I am really looking
forward to GP3.  The weather effects sound very nice.  Dynamic weather (yes,
F1RS had it) with varying levels of rain, a drying racing line, standing
water and the possibility to cool tires by going off line.  That is, if I am
reading correctly.  The reviewer, who seems to be quite a F1 fan, gave the
impression that driving in the rain was going to be quite challenging.

Bring it on.  I've got some Rain-X to wipe on the screen.

How?
By having helicopters flying over the "phantasy" tracks? (no sim name
here ;^)
Or moving wind mills? (NFS series)

Would you name them? I think all sims with a good physics engine were
honored on ras.

Summer of '95.

That is indeed pretty long in Internet terms   :-)

I don't want to be negative, but I would take the "reviews" on
Gamespot with a truckload of salt.

They supposedly visited Crammond's development studio. Yet their
screenshots are all taken from a publicly available promotion video!
Of the first 3 articles, NONE provided ANY new info that hasn't been
given somewhere else before.

Me strongly suspects tbat it's all made up...

Exactly, Jo. Five years in internet terms is a lifetime.

Well thats not what I was referring too.

GPL uses only very basic 3d objects it seems and only 256 colours.
Its not hard to beat graphically.

The problem is that GPL uses this little very well and so looks good and
runs well. Other sims like to uses more complex 3d objects and graphics
which perhaps causes the game to run like crap.

MGRPS2, F1 2000, RC 2000, GP500..... etc...

judging by "eye candy", GPL works well with what it has but doesn't have
anything very complex.

And still people car confusing Game Engine, Physics and Game Difficulty all
as one I never understood this.

Well, I don't think i would call it a "problem". ;)
OTOH, esp. with GPL I don't have the freaking time to check out the
scenery.
That's why I have NFS PU on my system, nice physics and great scenery.

Exactly!
256 colours and low polygon 3d objects add up to a game the runs pretty well
don't you think?
Thats what GPL is.
