What are your impressions of it. I am not a huge F1 fan but I liked the
game, I cannot judge the realism of the tracks or cat characteristics.
I was also curios about the setup options it advertises alot how are
they ?
Thanks
Mick

I saw it today at CompUSA in San Francisco. I'm waiting for the R.A.S.
faithful to give us the driving impressions. Graphics on the box looked
nice.

This games graphics are not good at all compared to MGPRS2.
The funny thing about Official F1 Racnig is that there is a simulation and
arcade mode in it but after playing the simulation mode I couldn't imagine
how much of an arcade game the actual arcade mode would be.

Eidos F1 hasn't enjoyed a very positive reception here at RAS. It seems the
main opinion in the newsgroup is that the game isn't quite up to 1999
standards with regards to handling/physics, graphics, etc. It doesn't quite
make it as a sim, and indeed some have argued that even as an arcade game,
it's rather disappointing. General praise for its replay feature.
Most have argued that Ubisoft's Monaco Grand Prix Racing Simulation 2 is a
bit closer to the mark for a modern F1 sim (although that's a hot topic
around here in and of itself--many find MGPRS2's physics to be wildly
awkward). In any case, you'll find many more setup options, upgrades, etc.
for MGPRS2 than you will for the Eidos offering (for example, at
http://www.mgprs2.com/ ).
hope this helps,
DK

It's a good way to deal with it for the non-***, and saves having
to encode with file naming conventions which are qualifying, which are
race, which are wet and which are dry setups.
