I too have been dying for such a patch.  It would be realistically cool
to drive two and three wide through the trioval without having to slow
down.   Since Papyrus does have licensing for the Talladega track, you
would think that they would at least accurately represent the track
plan.   If anyone at Papyrus is reading this, please consider coming out
with this patch.   It would make racing at Talladega much more fun and
realistic.

At the end of the last year there was some discussion about Talladega
tri-oval patch (too tight in simulation, I think it can be taken flat
out 2 or 3 wide in real world).

I haven't seen the patch.  Is it "on the way", or has it been forgotten?

If your car is dialed in right, you can go full pedal all the way around the
track with autobraking off. Just keep playing with the car setup. It took me
awhile, but i finally did it.

Yeah, but that's not the point.  While it's true you can go around the
track wide open, there's currently only one line through the tri-oval.
Take any other route, and you end up eating concrete!

In reality, the cars can run ANY line through the tri-oval, and do it wide
open.  Watch a race a Talladega and you'll notice them going three,
sometimes four wide through the the tri-oval.  In the sim, you can't even
do two wide racing through the tri-oval.

One other thing that's wrong with Talladega, the transition from the
banking to the flat parts of the track are a little abrupt.  But, I'd be
happy if they would just fix the tri-oval.

FWIW, somebody told me they were working on this.  I wonder if Rick and
tell us anything about it?

To be perfectly honest, I am not positive that this can be taken "flat
out" in the real world.  However, with the right setup this can be taken
at least 2 wide in the simulation with just the lightest of lifts.  IF
(that's a big if) it is attacked perfectly.

Real world...Yes you can go flat out. I have passed in the tri-oval,
flat-out, but under the yellow stripe, almost in the grass. I try not
to do it, but I'll do that before lifting.

You can go full throttle all the way around, but not two and three wide
in the third turn, Thats a situation hell bent on disaster
