I would like to make a proposal to all of the other Indycar and Nascar
Racers.  I think we should get together and think of all the things
they could include in the newer versions of Indycar and Nascar to make
it more realistic.  Things sych as radomized pit stalls, seeing the
other team pit crews so it would be harder to spot your pit stall just
like the Nascar and Indycar guys.  If you are interested please e-mail

to send to Papyrus.  We could also spread this into other newsgroups
that relate to racing simulators and also people with websites could
integregate this into thier websites.  I think this would be a powerful
tool in getting what we want.  Because we are the consumer, and we buy
the product.

Another powerful tool is to send email to R.Genter, or leave feedback
on Papyrus's Web Site.  But I'm all for an organized "list" per se...

While I appreciate the sentiment, it is FAR TOO LATE to do this for
IndyCar Racing II.  We are in the middle of alpha testing and will be
going to beta testing shortly. Sure, there are plenty of features I'd
still like to see added, but it isn't going to happen. They won't postpone
Christmas for us :-).

I understand that but I mean for future versions such as 3.0 for
Indycar and stuff like that I don't mean this current version.  It's a
thing to give to you guys as future considerations.

Rick, important question:

What about Double-File restarts in NASCAR Racing?

Also,  is v1.21 only modem upgrades (versus 1.2)??

We've looked into this before; getting the AI right is the tricky part.
We'll keep looking at it; I don't want to release it if it isn't going to
work right.

Good question, good answer.  The AI is currently heavy in the 'A'
department and light in the 'I' department.  Lately I've really begun to
notice that in passing in the turns the AI will watch out for each other
and not bump into a lower car but will try to cut off the human player as
if there is nothing there.

The one thing I'd like ot see in the next incarnation of NASCAR is the
option to be able to not make the field in season play.  This would
certainly lead to a boost in intesity (as if that's really needed).

Hmm, now that's a good idea. A good option and one that I'd like to
see to.  Heck, how about an option for total realism mode - When you
get to the track, you have your 2 race cars in your hauler.  Wreck
them and you're hurting.  You only have so many in your race shop, put
out only so fast.  So if you wreck too many, you'll be hurting.

When you head out to the track, you select which 2 cars you want to
bring with you - fresh ones or repaired ones... hmmm

And while we are at it, how about a NO-RESTART feature?  I'd also like
to have a save game function that doesn't start the field back in
yellow.  example: I'm a consultant, it's an off-day and I'm racing.
Get a call, I put it on pause (yeah, should'a let the answering
machine get it, I know), and I got business to take care of.  Dang. I
gotta save off the game, and it's under yellow.

Another option would be a results generator that you could just pop in
a saved email address.  You could be in Windows95, heck the new
version is going to be in Windows anyway, and have your internet
connection up.  NASCAR Racing could send email to your series director
with results.  Maybe even an encryption key that the series directors
could have the decoder.  Cuts down on cheating :)

For all I know, all these options have been thought of, but then
again, maybe not.

Hey Rick, thanks for the fast replies on this stuff, it's really nice
knowing Papyrus supports us.  Makes a BIG BIG difference to me!
