FF in F12000: any news ?

by porsch.. » Tue, 09 May 2000 04:00:00

I have not followed this thread for a while and I am afraid I might
have missed something... Has someone managed to tweak something in F12K
so that Force feedback is more powerful ?  Please ?

Greg.

FF in F12000: any news ?

Turn the speed sensitivity down to 0. I thought that the FFF was really lame
but gradually I've been turning down the speed sensitivity from 30% as I get
more used to it. When I got down the 0 the FF suddenly starts to work
properly when before you only felt the curbs. Now you can feel the wheel
weighting up and unweighting through the turns . It's now so much better
although it's still nowhere near as good as GPL as Viper Racing. Because it
gets a more twitchy you have to turn down your steering lock from 25% to
something more like 12%.

Give it a try it certainly worked for me:-) although FF does slow things
down quite a bit:-(

This is a good advice! The speed sensitivity down to 0 and steering lock
from 25% to 12%. The feel of driving becomes much better.  But, but, ...
there just seems not to be any effect on the FF, other than only the
centering feels stronger. Try setting the centering to zero and you
still do not feel any forces while on track...

(I am using MS FF SideWinder, and the only track I tried was Nurburgr.)

How do you account for the fact that FF feels right with the default
settings until you leave the pits?

I dunno... but I sure wish they'd extend the pits around the entire track!!!

FF in F12000: any news ?

Have you tried changing the settings in the control panel? I have a logitech
FF wheel and have great self centering but only after fiddling with the
setting under control panel - game controllers - click on the device -
properties - test tab -settings.

You'll get four settings, I just clicked on enable self centring and it
works great. No more fish tailing!
