... as a simmer-want-to-be-but-I-ain't-got-the-skills guy, I lurk here from
time to time to get the skinny on the new driving games.  While I abhor
games like "Speedbusters", I find GPL a little, well, difficult.  N3 and
Superbike are more my speed.

Anyway, my question:  does NFS: PU dare to tread into "sim" territory.
While it obviously does not dare call itself an actual simulation, it seems
to have made the jump beyond simple arcade action.  Does this seem the case
with you guys, the owners of the thousand dollar wheels?

hido - who finds RAS intimidating, but not quite as bad as the flight sim
freaks

Yes.

Yes, buy it and enjoy a seriously nice product.

Amen to that. This place is very peaceful compared to *.flight-sim

:)

It WAS NOT a thousand dollars...it was $999.95 plus tax...hehe   Just a little
humor to liven things up :)

But to be serious NFS:PU does tread into the "sim" genre...NFS4 could have but
in the end it didnt.  I think we MIGHT actually see the NFS series be where it
SHOULD be in the physics department by the time NFS:6 or 7 is released.  But i
have been wrong before...

If Viper Racing qualified as a sim, I don't see why NFS: PU can't.  It's
fun and while physics aren't on the same plain as GPL, I like the
physics in NFS: PU better than N3.  If you enjoy it, go for it....

You might be on the right track. The series is strong and popular enough for
such a strategy to be implemented.

You shouldn't :-) People may have strong opinions but nobody ever died
here yet. Mind you, a few sims have been mortally wounded <g>.

Sad as it may be, that feature probably would have made gpl a huge
sales hit.

Hmm, the whole concept of forward firing guns must be why
I instinctively let people pass me ;)
