Drag Racing Sim

Am I the only person that would like to see Papy or one of the other
higher quality software companies.. create a Drag Racing sim?

For Instance with John Force's Name on the box as well as
Liscensing by the NHRA...

I dont really think this would be as involved as Nascar1 or
Nascar2 even,

1. A certain Amount of money for the Season from your sponser (don't
blow to many engines
2. Tire compounds .. for different track Temps  and conditions
3.setting up Gear Ratios, Fuel Mix, clutch timing,
4.  A successful burnout
5. A Pro style Christmas tree... with timed reaction times...
6.and of course trying to drive your Funny Car or Top Fuel car down
the 1/4 mile straight,  As some of you may know, running over 150mph
at most tracks, could amost be compared to driving on rough ice.
7. and last but not least. Pulling the shoot at the right time... to
Early and your apponent wins... to Late and your going for a ride into
the sand traps...

This is Just an Idea.. I have a shareware Drag Racing Game... Drag
City.. (I Will Post it if there is a big enough responce)  And I take
this game to the Local Strip,, and sell it for 5.00 that is my
Proccesing fee ;>... I'll take 30-35 with me and sell out within 2-3
hours....

No....you're not the only one by far. There has been talk every once in a
while about a drag racing sim in this group. Maybe since TNN has more live
coverage this season (and more races, especially an extra one at HRP
(yea!)) more people will get involved in the sport and would buy a game
that may or may not have before. Personally, I know I didn't really get
into NASCAR until I bought NASCAR 1 before the '95 season. I usually
watched the races before that, but I didn't know the drivers or the cars.

A mainstream drag racing simulation could be beneficial to both NHRA and
the company that has the intelligence to see that there is a market there
for one.

I have been hoping for a drag racing sim along the lines of Nascar or
GP2 for a VERY long time.  I am an AVID drag racing fan and nothing
would please me more.  We can only hope...

REPLY:

Yep it's time for a networkable, fully car modifiable drag racing game. It's
time has come. It should be papy's next project due to it's orginality and
popularity. Followed closely be a demolition derby using many parts of Nascar
2.

Then Nascar 3 and ICR3!!!  :)
