16:9 resolution, but it defaults to 4:3. It would be cool to get the extra
peripheral vision, but alas, I cannot.
Any suggestions or hacks?
Thanks!

Thanks Grant.
My 19" monitor is 4:3.
My 16:9 monitor is my Mitsubishi 55" HDTV. It has VGA input via a VGA-BNC
breakout cable.
Fun for *** in small doses...gotta watch out for burn-in :)

Hi David.
That is correct.
My GF2 does support 16 X 9 resolutions, but the TV won't take a 16X9 rez at
720p. Or, it might, but I don't want to overdrive it. Too chicken to find
out. I was hoping to get a 1920 X 1080 setting to work, but again, 1080p
might overdrive the set. I usually just***around at the 480p 16X9 res.
(848? something like that...I'm at work now). Besides, I get grief if I tie
up the CPU and the TV.
Off-topic question: What HD-tuner do you have? I've got a DTC-100. Gotta
love HD. Pissed about Superbowl in 480p widescreen. CBS 1080 football is
just jawdropping.
Thanks for your reply!
Jeff
Im pretty sure that you need component video cables to get 480p or 1080i
resolutions.
I wish I had a HD tuner, there just too expensive at this time. The good
thing is that I have a DVD player that supports progressive scan 480p.

David,
The VGA-BNC breakout cable will feed whatever resolution your CPU card will
put out...it's just that the mits only accepts 480i, 480p, 540p and 1080i.
OT: you can find a DTC 100 for $350-400. If your local stations are doing
HD...you owe it to yourself to get one.
