I have had my wheel for about 4 months now and the steering has got
very loose.  Is anybody else had this porblem.  And is there a fix for
this besides sending the wheel back to Thrustmaster.  Any Help would
be appreciated.
Thanks,

Sounds like you may have stretched your bungee chord (device
Thrustmaster uses for tension) on your unit.  You may want to check out
Alison's web site for "tune-up" for the T2 or GP1 (as the Pro wheel is
similar).  The URL is http://www.nh.ultranet.com/~alison/racing/
The direct URL's are:
http://www.nh.ultranet.com/~alison/sims/t2.htm
http://www.nh.ultranet.com/~alison/sims/gp1.htm
(But, don't pass up here section on Race Simulations <G>)

Also send Thrustmaster some e-mail and tell them your problem and they
should send you a new bungee (or whatever else may be needed).  Contact
them through their web page http://www.thrustmaster.com

They have a form to fill out for service, the direct URL is:
http://www.thrustmaster.com/support/servmail.htm

I haven't opened up my wheel yet to check out the mechanism, but the best
help I can give is to check if there is a bungy cord like they used in the
t2 and the t1 I believe. If so, then from thrustmaster you can get the bungy
cord, or buy it in any hardware store.

That happened to my GP1 wheel and all I and to do was tighten a***
that is underneath the wheel shaft. Turn the wheel upside down and
look for a***there. I don't know if ur wheel is similar to mine,
but they are both by the same manufacturer so it should be.

Thanks, Joe, I couldn't find where I hid your URL when I was replying
in my earlier post.  Any and all Thrusmaster wheel owners should
bookmark this page right this moment.  Between, Alison's and Joe's
pages there is plently of TM survival material.

My steering is also getting loose. The worst thing is that the pedal
springs still break. For the moment I can't use my Nascar Pro wheel
because both springs for the throttle pedal has broken. I hope
Thrustmaster keeps up their excellent support record from the past and
send me new springs like they did when the springs broke in my  T1.

What I think is strange is that they haven'y learnt anything from the
past! Surely it must be possible to make springs that doesn't break after
a couple months use.

We actually have some new and improved bungie cords (higher MTBF).  If you
want to email me your mailing address, I'll send one out to you.

Thanks,
Alan

You cannot do this!!!  What are people going to winge and whine about on
RAS if Thrustmaster 'fix' the springs!   T1/T2 'Springs'  have made up
50% of the RAS content!  We may have to close RAS down or start talking
race sims!!!!

Jammer ;-)

It would seem that there is a grand *** by Thrustmaster to shut
down r.a.s.  It seems that even thought they tested their products, us
r.a.s.'ers have found newer ways to abuse and break them.  The following
is a note I received from Thrustmaster.

"BTW, everyone here is very committed to making great products.  The
springs have been a nightmare for us and I think we've finally got a
handle on them.  We've made numerous improvements to the  wheels in
places that would not be obvious to most people. For example, we beefed
up some of the pins around the internal yoke (the thing attached to the
shaft that stretches the bungie - which has also been improved lately)."
