Bug in GP2 ?

Whilst driving a full length race at Imola today, my engine blew
on lap 53 when I was third. As I was near the pit lane, I hit enter
and to my amazement, had a tyre change and was out in 8 seconds.
The smoke pluming from my engine had gone, I rejoined the race and
eventually finished fourth.
So much for a realistic simulator !!!

I had a similar experience - my car was on fire by the time I
coasted into the pits, and yet the pit crew still managed to get
me out in a slick 9 seconds - this includes putting out the fire,
changing the engine, changing my tires, and re-fuelling. Now that's
GOOD pit work!

Wow, what a pit crew indeed.

I think you should get onto Frank Williams and recommend them as Damons
new crew seeing as the current one are making some severe mistakes of
late. ;))

Must admit, the pit crews in GP2 are amazing with their turnaround
times, it is something I have mentioned in Strobes survey which I would
like to see adjusted in a patch???

Happy lapping

It is currently the second most-requested fix (top is stopping computer
cars overtaking under yellows, which I haven't seen them do, myself!)

Yep !

This is a known problem with GP2 for now, hopefully this lack of realism
in pit repairs and also in race damage will be addressed in a future patch.

For now, you can do the honest thing and stay in the pits the extra time
you think is warranted by the repair.

Actually some things should not be repairable at all.

Cheers.

The same thing happend to me, when on the last couple of laps of a race,
my former trusty Ferrari V12 cried enough... so I headed for the pit, to
be fully repaired and back out within 12 seconds.

I knows its unrealistic, but after playing for 45mins or so, I was glad to
get something out of the race.

Just so you all know, if you have a brake problem, your pit crew can also
replace the shoes/add fluid/replace hoses in under 10 seconds as well. Maybe
the guy who cleans the screen during the stop has more than one job. :)
