N2 & Kali help

by J. Crai » Fri, 09 May 1997 04:00:00

I'm new at multiplayer/network/kali and need some help in understanding how
i host and/or join a race. Depending if i check off dial/answer i get
different screens when i press connect.

I assume dial is used when i host but i only have 2 options, Abort and
something else. I do see other games in progress when i network
-dial-connect. When i dbl click on a race i drop into chat, but i don't
think this is the correct sequence to join a race.

Also, does the host control my screens

If someone would explain the key sequence to host & join a game it would
be greatly appreciated. I've searched for a write up on this but no luck.
I'm using win95 kali beta 1.1 and running N2 from win95. thanks

New at it myself... I tried N2 at The Zone http://www.zone.com
and there it is Host=answer...

I would assume Kali would be the same.

That's the way it's supposed to work.

"Answer" is used to host, dial is used to join a race.
Yes, when you double click on a race in the "dial" screen, you will
drop into the chat mode.  Click in the box to chat.

If you are in the answer screen, you can change all of the race options
and control when the race starts etc.

Yes, the host controls everything.  If you are dialing, you are just
along for the ride.  You can go to your car setup menu it you want, and
you have to click on "practice", "qualify", or "race" to enter the track,
but that's about all the dialer can do.

Did you check "www.wheretorace.com"?  I think there should be something
there that explains what to do.  It's really pretty basic though...

See you on Kali,
