F1rs crashing NEED HELP NOW!

by Kasparo » Sun, 12 Apr 1998 04:00:00

Please help me.  I just got Ubisoft's F1 and I cannot get it to work. I have
a Monster 3d and I did the full 3dfx installation. I have all the latest
drivers including glide 2.43.  Here is the problem:

The game loads and I see the 2 video sequences or I skip them. Then I get
the small menu to select single or multiplayer. When I select single player
the game crashes me back to Windows. It says there is a general protection
fault error with WAVX2BVR.DLL.

What could be the problem?  Any help and or suggestions would be greatly
appreciated.

Edit the Snd_cpi.dll file in the CPA\DLL subdirectory of your game .
Change the default setting in the DLL_Sxd section from WAVX2 to WAVPW .
Save the file and all should be okay.
If you cannot save the file make sure your have first removed the read only
attribute from the
Snd_cpa.dll file .(right click on the file, select properties and then
uncheck the read only box)
Hope this helps, it did the trick for me.
