Hi guys!

I was wondering around a software store this weekend and found a game named
Formula One Racing (or something like that).  I think it had a yellow Formula
One car drawn on the box.  I almost bought it, but as I picked up the box,
regular sized like the one for Indycar Racing, I noticed it was unusually
light - probably because its manual is thin and crappy.  I don't remember who
made it.

Has anyone played it?  How good/bad is it?

thanks,

y.e.

This description looks a lot like the one for World Circuit, but the game
that I'm talking about is NOT World Circuit (or F1 GP depending on where you
live).

I believe the game you are describing is Formula One from Domark.  I haven't
heard anything good about it, but then, I haven't heard anything bad.  I do
vaguely remember reading a bad review of it though.

--- I just happened to have the "luxury" of trying last weekend on the
Amiga Platform <didn't know things were still made for that?>  It was
ok, sound was good, competition level seemed fairly good.  Control was
horrible I found (coming from many laps with ICR) as it resembled the
classic Pole-Position where you turn and it turns but it VERY non-linear?
Understand?  You know where you crank to one side and the thing goes flying
off into the weeds?  Anyway, it was that type of feel/control (I'm not keen
on that these days).
--- Overall it was very arcady.  But you know?  As a quick load-and-play
thing that is not too mind-intensive it was "fun"; it's a fun "game" not a
sim or the like by any stretch of the matter.  It has 2 legs of 6 Grand
Prixs each, played separately.  There's a running point standings to get
you into the competition end of things a bit (real names were present as well
but maybe the fellow I was visiting edited em'?  Not sure).  I don't know
I say maybe 5.5 or 6 out of 10?  Have to see it on the PC before I could
pass judgement really as I wasn't impressed with the graphics on the Amiga
for some reason.  It sure chunked the frames out though on his old 2000 :)
That's a plus I guess.
--- Off to vacation land... see ya' all in a couple of weeks.  Glad you
could drop in Ralf!  Hope you enjoy your stay here.
