Marc,

My USR sportster 33.6 internal would not work with NASCAR 2 in DOS 6.22
or Win95 on my old Biostar MB-8500 TEC motherboard. Nascar 1 and Indycar
2 would work on that setup. Now with my new Abit AX-5 motherboard,
suddenly everything works, including NASCAR 2 in DOS 6.22 and Win95. Go
figure. I never changed a thing, the modem was always at com-2, IRQ-3,
O3f8. I suspect it has something to do with a differnce in the bios and
plug-n-play, but both motherboards are supposedly plug-n-play 1.0a
compliant. Once again, go figure. I'm just glad it works now. Sorry to
be of no help to your problem. Anyone have any ideas, I'm curious if
anyone knows why this happens?

It's possible that your modem isn't DOS compatible. I recently found
this to be true with my Sony 200mmx/33.6 DVSD modem. Sony says the
modems in their computers are primarily designed to work in Win95 only.
The remedy was to add a second modem (DOS friendly) to the computer.
Everything now works fine.
