TOCA "sim practice" for Real Drivin'

Surprised nobody seems to have noticed this yet, but on news.bbc.co.uk
there's an item up today "Drivers rehearse before they drive".

It's about the current British touring car season: seems the drivers now
get to practice using TOCA (2, I presume) - the playstation version, no
less. This "virtual racing system will be installed at four British BTCC
tracks" to learn the circuit before going out for real. Both pros and
amateurs will be able to use it (I'm guessing it's not set at "arcade"
then  :)

Let's see if this will improve the standards of driving over there   ;)

Um... the article says this:
"The game being used to help the drivers rehearse tactics and routes through
the courses is the PlayStation 2 version of the TOCA Race Driver game. "

the track layouts in toca race driver are worse than the previous 2 toca
incarnations (learnt croft and donignton here on the pc before racing there,
not perfect, but better than toca race driver).

Chanel 4s excellent series FAKING IT will have a computer games beta tester
trying his hand at race car driving sometime in this current series
(wednesday nights).
