In Car 956 DVD question

Hi, I've got a DVD-Rom player and have been looking for good racing related
DVD's.  I've already picked up Super Speedway (IMAX) and Ronin but I want
something related to Formula One like a documentary possibly on the history
of F1 preferably around 1967 :).  Also I was wondering if "In Car 956" is
available on DVD and WHERE CAN I FIND IT?!?!
BTW here is a good Nurburgring streaming video
http://www.racesimcentral.net/
Thanks for any help you can give me.

well, it's not a documentary, but I don't think any collection could be
complete without Grand Prix (based on '66 or '68) - and since you have
Ronin, it'll go nice with it since Bruckheimer (sp?) used some of the same
techniques from GP. Don't know if it's on DVD but if not, it should be....

Unfortunately it hasn't been announced yet, from the last news I have heard.
Grand Prix The Movie can only be bough on VHS.  In-car 956 is VHS-only,
also.  There isn't many Motorsport DVD's on the market.

Kirkus,

You should definitely get "Grand Prix" (it's from John Frankenheimer btw)
since it covers the GPL era with the actual drivers, cars and circuits. I
myself have got this video (don't know if its out on DVD (yet)) but have only
seen the first 15 minutes on another persons NTSC-compatible VCR (still
waiting for my new VCR 8:( ). Those minutes were enough though to convince me.
It's absolutely amazing to see how well the Papy boys captured the tracks in
GPL. The movie starts at Monaco and I wass immediately struck with how "at
home" I felt. I knew exactly what was coming. I also saw a 1 second shot
(during the intro) and could immediately identify it as the Burnenville (the
long right hander before Malmedy) at Spa.
This is really a "must have" if you're into the GPL-era of F1. It's really
frightening to see how the real drivers conquered these circuits!

As far as In car 956 goes, I don't see much benefits from a DVD version
anyway. It's awesome but the picture quality is not THAT good on the
original anyway, so at best it'd be a poorly encoded DVD (the only +
would be that it wouldn't go bad like tape does), like for instance
Highlander's directors cut ! Argh, the shittiest quality DVD ever!!! ;-)

Bullett :)  It's got to be the best car chase sequence around.  It's not
really a *racing* movie per say, but you've gotta love the Charger &
Mustang running around the streets of San Fran.
