Since Sierra won't pay for the NASCAR licence, but includes NASCAR as one of
the options in the poll, should we assume the rest are also equally
non-starters?

I love the way the European webmasters at Sierra just do their own thing in
total isolation from reality or responsibility.  Remember GPL2 on the French
site?

Sometimes things that are in the pipeline don't happen or are cancelled.
That's business for you. Who knows what if any effect this poll will have,
but it's a chance to have your say, so you may as well use it.

The only problem really is that it's an anonymous poll, so I imagine some
wiseass will vote a million times or something. Rebels are so predictable
;-)

It won't matter.  They are going to do what they want to do regardless of
what WE want anyway.

Why waste the bits :)

6700 out of 9000 for GPL2
Wow, that's a statement from the community.

Nice to see that Sierra hasn't scrapped the idea of GPL2 totally.

Call me square, but I haven't touched another sim really seriously since I got
GPL (and I tried all of them, I assume)

I consider GPL a 2nd tier sim now in terms of realism, below GTR2002
and N2002/3 but about equal to F12k2.  Just my personal opinion, of
coruse, and no point arguing it here since we've all rehashed this a
million times.

At the same time, I'd still rather play it than anything else.  I
mean, if you love cars and you love racing, how can you not love that
era of motorsport?  The driving is so pure without wings and
electronics getting in the way, the tracks were the finest Europe and
America had to offer, and the whole thing drips of the 60's, which was
one of the 2 sexiest decades of the 20th century.  Besides that, these
are the cars that some of the greatest drivers in history raced,
Clark, Stewart, Brabham, Hill, Amon, Gurney, etc.

I dunno.  My prime choice for a new sim would be a CART sim because
the well has been dry for 8 years now, but I would be ecstatic for a
historic F1, USAC, WRC, WSC, or even NASCAR sim that dealt with any
time from the 1950-1980 'classic' era.  I'm absolutely psyched for the
1977 F1 mod and the mid-80's GTP/Type C mod.
