Looking for GPL in th UK

I'm in Southampton (UK) and looking to purchase a copy of Grand Prix
Legends. I can't find it anywhere!!! I know it's like 4 years old. Can
anyone help? I'm also looking to purchase a PC, graphics card etc. Any
recommendations for the PC stuff where the setup is for GPL and GPL
only! Money not really an issue.

PC?
Graphics card?
Sound Card?
Sound System?
Wheel?
Pedals?
Display?
Seat?

You can buy it direct from the budget publishers at
http://www.pay-securely.co.uk/socart/cart.asp?pid=30375

As for the hardware, get the fastest CPU you can afford and a good graphics
card. There are a lot of different wheels available depending on budget and
whether you want force feedback or not. If money really isn't an object,
BallRacing make the best wheels in the UK. Visit their site at
http://www.interactiveracing.com . I have a Sim Classic wheel, Speed7 pedals
and Race Frame Pro from them and think they are all superb.

GPL's in the Staples near here in Leicester( 499 ) - could try your local
branch.

As for a a PC - well, reasonable but powerfull spec with a lean toward sim
racing would be the Shuttle  "Orbit" config from overclockers

http://www.racesimcentral.net/
stems_111.html

If you're going the DIY route and you want a bit of upgradeability  - I'd
recommend an Asus A7N8X nForce 2 motherboard, with an Athlon 2200+ and 2 x
256mb Corsair DDR3200 Ram - as that will happily take a 400 FSB barton cpu
in a few months time ( building your own PC is always a rewarding
experience )

GFX wise - anything like a GF4 Ti4200, 4400, 4600, or an ATI Radeon 9500,
9700 or 9700 pro would be good enough really.

As for wheel and pedals - you can start an argument here. All I can say is
that for budget spec - the MSFF is still my choice - even over the Momo
wheel and pedals - the momo pedals are disgracefull - some people like them,
i think they're disgusting. I use a Logitech MOMO wheel - but BRD (
www.interactiveracing.com ) Speed 7 Pedals and intend to get their Speed 7
wheel in the new year when it's released.

If you want to go all out - having tried one for size - I can recommend
www.hyperstim.com - superb build -if a little pricey.

Display - well, the 25ms response time of an LCD screen still prohibits them
from being a truely viable *** option imho ( you will only ever get
40fps, or a blurrery 40fps version of whatever you're viewing  - although
the new Hitachi monitors have a much faster response - 12ms ( roughly
80fps ). Dont get me wrong - they're great for most stuff - but not for
*** imho.

best of luck

Blimey...it's a good sim, Doug, but that's a bit pricey, innit?

Mine too. It's also worth knowing that it's *finally* started to be
widely reduced - my local PC World in Kidderminster has it at 69.99,
which is 30 off RRP.
