Has any one ever tried to race on Kali or Kahn? If so... was it any good?

Depends on ping to other drivers.

The last 2 nights I've went to WTR and found people with good pings to
me.  Then we go to server mode and race that way.  We race with 3 guys
and 15 AI cars for 94 laps thats 2 pit stops.  The AI cars are at 100%
and the temp is 70.  So far this has worked just great and is alot of
fun.  It seems that if the pings are 400 or below this works without
any problem.  I host with a P166 and 64 megs, since I went to 64 megs
from 32 I have not got'en 1 blue screen fatal error while hosting a
race ( use to get them more then not).   Anyway you guys might want to
try this or let the rest of us know what your doing to get good races.
WTR is a great place to find racers, the problem is guys with bad ping
times jump in and its just hard to get a good race going without going
to server mode.

I've been trying to find someone to race N2 with using Kahn, but so far
I've had no luck. I've rarely found someone with a ping time less than
300ms (which is, from what I hear, recommended), and when I do, they
aren't interested in playing N2. But I'll keep looking.......

Hi Paul,
There aren't too many of us on Kahn yet. Keep trying though. I
personally don't pay much attention to the ping times in chat. It's
not always accurate.
As far as finding a race, you can ask around in chat (as you obviously
have already) or you can just load up N2, head to multiplayer and wait
for a race to pop up. I find more races this way than I do searching
chat for a partner. Most "hosts" don't mind you popping in as long as
your latency  doesn't lock the other drivers up. I, and a few others
"host" races and just wait for drivers to show up.
Look for Gavel1,Madmax,Kracer,Biscayne,Bkoch to name a few who are
often seen there on Kahn.
  As far as latency goes..it's a crapshoot. I run a 486dx4-120 USR 33.6
modem and I successfully host races using Kahn/DOS. I've run against
Madmax(he's in NB Canada,I'm in Calif.) at Taladega with a 30 something
field and no warping. I've also raced some folks at Bristol with 4 AI
cars and had horrible warping probs. It seems that anything over two
racers is a bit dicey. Anyhow, look for me there..( I'm just starting
to use Kali so I'll be splitting my time).
  Hope this helps,
 Regards,
Greg
