I didn't use it against the Twain quote as such just Americas idealistic
view of  their constitution and the fact that you are brainwashed into
thinking that your country is somehow freer then the rest of the world when
really it isn't, your freedom is doled out selectively i.e in the 50's
members of the communist party were rounded up and jailed, where was freedom
of speech and conscience for them? You had a system of apartheid up until
the 70's yet I have heard Americans talk about South Africa as a country
that was not free but has now seen the light.

You preach about democracy but you helped install terrible dictatorships in
countries like Chile overthrowing democratically elected socialist
governments. You still impose a blockade on Cuba a country where the life
expectancy of the population has gone up by 20 years since the 'peoples'
revolution overthrew your (and mine) system of greed and division for a
system of equality.

I know you'll all come back and defend your country to the hilt, I don't
know why there's not much about my country I would defend but I see allot
more good in it then yours. Just have the intelligence to look a bit
sideways at things and not to always see things the way you have been taught
to.

Sorry not very r.a.s I'll shut up now,

Amen.

You are free, to think *their* way. (The establishment, etc.)  If you
give any kind of opposition beyond mere lip service, they don't go for
that any more than the authoritarian countries do.  Can you say
hypocrisy?

In some ways, it still exists here.  It's just more subtle &
"undercover".  :-/

Yep.  It was also known that the CIA helped to toss opposition
supporters in Chile out of helicopters into the ocean.  Really backing
the forces of good, we were...

Yep.  Only country to do so too.  Canada is much more enlightened.  One
amusing thing though.  Somehow we always suppose that these blockades
hurt those in power in these countries we oppose.  However, those in
power will always get the goods THEY need.  It just takes away from
their poor.  That doesn't turn those people against their leaders for
the simple fact that they know why they are suffering... the US is doing
it to them, they've cut them off.  So in effect, the US makes even more
enemies for itself.  Hmmm...

Just like any country or person, when they're right I'll back them up.
And when they're not, I'll slam them.  I don't play the blind
cheerleader & root this country on just because I live here.

To bring mine back on-topic, one positive thing can be said.  *WE* have
GPL!  ;-)

Communist tyranny? I don't like tyranny but Communism does not equate to
tyranny there have been tyrannies in the name of communism, capitalism,
national socialism....

Cuba is NOT one of them Castro imo is a great man I believe he has the good
of the majority of his population a heart, he and Guerava had no incentive
towards communism it was not in their interest, they were from educated
middle class families. Yet they risked and even gave their lives for
Marxism. Castro got into bed with the USSR through necessity not choice and
did not believe in there particular brand of communism.

The lives of the people of Cuba IS better for communism they have a very
good education and health system that is available to everyone, like I said
the average life expectancy has risen by 20 years since they took power and
meningitis has been eradicated, and that is basicly what we are told here in
the UK you are not getting the full story in the US.

The boat people are running from what they see as poverty thinking they will
have a better life in the land of the free, but most of them are very
mistaken a land where you are free to die from syphilis if you don't have
the money for treatment. Are the people streaming out of Mexico into the US
running from capitalism?

How you can believe that Cuba's system is a tyranny just because you are
told that by a media and power base in your country that has everything to
lose and nothing to gain from a more equal system just seems as foolish as
your first reply.

Aye well anyway, surely we could all do our bit for international harmony by
keeping our opinions to the subject matter of R.A.S?
This is starting to look like (yet another) transatlantic p!ssing contest...

My opinion is the US can have all the power and liberty, but we got the DFV
;)

cheers, countrymen and colonial friends all!

Obviously you didn't understand Huckleberry Finn.  The only person with any

You're digging yourself a deeper hole I come up with reasoned thought out
researched arguments and you come back with *plonk* you are hardly a shining
light for your nation are you...

And btw Mexico is a fully fledged member of the capitalist system,

the point I was trying to make is the people that run away from Cuba aren't
all running away from communism as your media would have you believe, they
are running away from poverty (that is created by the US blockade) in the
same way people try to escape to the US from Mexico.

And do try to come back with more then a one line reply next time it just
makes you look ignorant.

Yeah yeah  DFwhatever...do you have a 426(that's CUBIC INCHES LADDIE not
weenie centimeters) Hemi??
hehe   just what IS the formula for converting the litre measurement(cc) to
cubic inches.(ci) and back again??
any mathNazi's here?
All this bs about the Continent, or the Western Hemisphere or the land of
reverse flowing toilets is becoming inconsequential...the internet will make
the world one big happy CART family...(damn!  how'd THAT get in there???)

It's not that hard(I hope I get this right ;-):
since an inch is 2.54 centimeters, the ratio between CI and CC is
2.54 ^ 3 which is: 16.39

426 ci is 6981 cc or almost 7 liter

A fun game indeed!

If I were to make complaints tho, it would have to be about the graphics.
Ratbag need to do something about their graphics-engine...   Sure, framerate
is very good - but the looks -  well they dont exsist IMHO.

Perhaps a new graphics engine would help?

Also, would be nice if they could do "something" to the incar view...  it
just dont feel right.

My first impressions...it's not bumpy enough.
Granted I haven't raced SODA in a couple of years but I seem to remember
having bumps and ruts that were much more difficult.
2nd...wouldn't dynamic ruts for Motocross and dirt track games like this
be cool?  For example..ruts that only develop after cars/trucks/bikes run
over them several times...kinda like a two layered track...the top layer has
to be wiped off by the drivers, then the race becomes not only the fastest
drivers but who can find clean track to race on..
