F1RC Downloads

by BRH » Thu, 22 Nov 2001 07:35:47

Awhile back, there was a post here that outlined the most "essential"
downloads/patches, etc for F1RC.

The site most mentioned was www.f1-start.de.

I checked out that site, and it has plenty of files to download, but I
wonder if anyone can provide specifc recommendations of which are
"must-haves", and specifically where they can be found at that site (or
any other site).

Thanks.

hi,

might I suggest instead www.f1-star.de

click on the uk flag for the english text.

there is a  40meg downloadable 2001 carset which I use. it can be
found in the Patches & Updates section on the left menu.  Scroll down
to the near the bottom.  Its four files
2001 Season Update V2.0 Part 1 --> 4

you can also try www.f1rcrelay.com and download their software.  it
validates hotlaps to prevent cheating on their hotlap system.  it also
ensures that everybody is using the same physics & no invalid (cheat)
hacks.

any stuff downloaded from the relay site will be safe for use with the
relay system.  there are downloads at other sites which hack the
physics & AI, but i wouldn't bother if you want to use the relay
system.

there are also addon track graphics & sounds to further improve the
experience.  i can't really suggest one over the other.  i've changed
my sounds so often, i'm not really sure where the current sound comes
from :)
