ICR2 Question: Comp refuling in short race?

by William Dahm » Thu, 28 Nov 1996 04:00:00

I would like to know if the comp cars in ICR2 know to not ovewrfill
their fuel tanks in a less then full race.
An example is this.  I was racing the Mill Mile today on 50% race
length.  Mill is 200 laps, so shortining it to 50% makes it 100 laps.  A
yellow came out after about 60 laps so I went into the pits.  I still
had about 13 gal left and I knew I only needed about 20 gal to finish
the race so I had my pit crew stop at 20 gal.
Does the comp know to do this?  If the other cars didn't know to figure
in for a less than full race then they filled to 40 gal, giving me an
unfair advantage.
What about the start of a race?  Let's say I play a 10% race at LB.
Will the comp cars know to start out at less than a full tank?
What about the end of a full race?  let's say I was playing a Full race
at the Mill Mile (200 laps).  If all the cars had to pit with only 20
laps left, would they be dumb enough to fill up to 40 gal?
Please answer.  I'd really like to know.
