GPL: driving me crazy! kernel32

Okay...in an effort to keep me from going insane, please help me out
here.

I haven't got a single game that doesn't work on my system, that is
mostly built out of standard items. DX6 installed and all the latest
drivers. Win98. AWE 64, Riva ref. drivers and V2 ref drivers.

GLP lock (9-10 times) with a kernel32.dll error and a stack dump.

I have tried all the tricks...lessened grfx accelation, shared
resources for all users etc, all kinds of drivers...now I'm frankly
ready to give up ansd wait for a patch, why, simple...if I can get any
friggin game to work on this same system, why NOT GPL.

Please help....

Ruy,
The new DX6 V2 drivers cause frequent crashes in gpl.  Try installing an
older set of drivers ans see if that helps.

Thanks Jay, but no joy, installed the rev. 2.51 drivers to test this.

Guess I'll give up and wait for some patch, as it seems all my other
Win95/98 games using either Glide or D3D, or NO accel. work fine,
making it a thing Sierra/Papyrus need to solve, not me as a user.

Again, thanks for the input.

Are you running a TNT card? you have Riva reference drivers?  you mean
Nvidia reference drivers? maybe you should install your manufacturers
drivers... they are more compatible.. also, check your Direct3D supported
drivers.. there might be something that isn't supported properly.

Lastly, are you overclocking???  If so.. your voltage may not be high
enough?

I guess you'll have to wait for the Linux port in order to provide
you with more debugging info... wouldn't you just love
to be able to say

and see exactly what is going wrong? Come on Papy, you've got the
OpenGL version, give us that native Linux port! ;-)
