Just to let you know, I'm another satisfied customer of Wally, he also
helped me out a great deal. My steering wheel came out to about 50
bucks, but you know, the prototype is always the the most expensive,
Think I can do one now for about 25-30.
Need any help or advice don't hesitate to ask, Wally, or even I would.

The instructions here will build a unit for very few $$$ - but a little
effort since many of the parts are junk yard items - which you have to go
hunt for in the junk yard.  I have built a wheel unit from all new parts.
I plan to fashion a parts list for this to make it easy to build a wheel
without hunting for parts - price tag is about $100, the big ticket item
being a $50 steering wheel and $16 hub.  This is bit expensive - since you
can buy a T2 wheel and pedals for ~$100.  However, the T2 has a small
steering wheel (difficult to get both hands around) and is all plastic.
The T2 wheel has a good return to center, but the plastic bearing leaves a
ton of up and down play and feels like a toy (which of course it is).  I
actually like the T2 pedals and am continuing to use them until I get a
better idea.  /THansen

I used the instructions from Wally's page to build a wheel-pedal
combo. It was very informative and pretty easy to do if you stick with
the project. Wally helped me out a great deal.  I would be willing to
help also.
The wheel-pedal combo adds alot of realism and better performance than
a stick or keyboard. My speeds improved quite a bit.
e-mail me if you need help.
