I understand that you have to be invited to run
with the PRC.  Could someone please invite me? :)

Hi Pat,

You are a very fast driver.  That's why I haven't been
able to check out your driving/latency.  The only
time I see you is on the grid then maybe a turn or 2 ;)

The principle behind the Pro Racing Club is to get
clean drivers (you don't need to be fast).  Maybe if
you drove a Conventry in potential PRC scouting races
and passed us cleanly, we would say "Wow, lets get
that guy into the PRC!" :)

If John Burrowes reads this he might give you a break.
I think your PRC material, but just haven't had much
road time with you.

Jason.

Heh... at one point I would have enjoyed being invited, but after
the contradictions in this post (and JB babbling like a ***ager
during an open PRC Monza race on VROC last Wednesday night) I now
think I'd pass...

The following was a spur-of-the-moment shoot-from-the-hip opinion
that I should have kept to myself, and in any case could hardly
be called a useful contribution to the newsgroup.  Apologies to
all.

Rgds, Mark

Mark,

I'm glad you posted the above followup. Though I guess it doesn't mean
your opinion has changed. What follows is what I tried to post last
night. For some reason Agent gave me Error 401 though so it had to
wait till now...

I was babbling like a ***ager? I doubt it. Rarely do I chat much
during a race. PRC members know this. Could be it was another person
with the same inits? If you're sure it was me then, well, sorry.

BTW members... I've said this countless times... ANY of you can invite
anybody you think would make a good addition to the club. If they're
pretty clean racers and the decent sort then have them e-mail you and
forward their request to me. That way I know who's recommending them.
Do NOT give them my ICQ number. I like to know who it is that's added
me to their list. They'll get it in the password text.

Thanks,

See you IN the races!

Hi Mark,

Contradictions?  You mean being fast and driving clean?

The PRC members are known good 'racers'.  We mainly
race on pro mode and therefore must be clean to have fun.

How do I know if Pat is a clean racer when I haven't
raced with him?  I know he is fast.  He says he puts clean
above fast, but the only way I will be able to race him is
if our lap times are close (that won't happen until I change
to the Lotus).

You know how racing an open pro event is like.
Some airhead in row 5 thinks he can beat all the other to T1
and the race is over -- that's not fun.

Don't think for a second there are *only* slow racers in the
PRC.  Wolfgang and Ian Lake are members (well they
are in the PRC Series).

Furthermore, lapped traffic adds to the e***ment of a race
as long as they understand the blue flag ;)

PRC is a group that makes GPL that much more enjoyable.

Thanks to John for starting the group.

Jason.
