ICR2 online racing??

ICR2 online racing??

I was wondering. . .Is there an online (real time) racing series for
Indycar Racing II ??  My friend has CPS and races online all the time.
Can the game even support this type of racing???   Any help is much
appreciated.

  NOPE!   There was a rumour that since the engines for ICR2 and N2 are so
similar that ICR2 would get multiplayer as well after the N2 version got
figured out.  But....there is no network available for ICR2 and I believe NROS
and Nascar have some agreement that Papyrus can't make a competing mutliplayer
game while it has the Nascar license.  pooh!

I really would like to see this agreement.  To the best of my knowledge
future Papyrus sims will allow network play (up to 8 users?).  I feel
that the agreement may prevent Papyrus from developing a "dedicated"
racing server (ala TEN & NROS), but doesn't prevent them from coding
network support in their sims.  Not including network support in their
sims would severly hamper sales and unless NASCAR is going to underwrite
Papyrus, I doubt that their bean-counters would ever agree to such a
"blanket" agreement.

  Good point, sloppy wording on my part.  I think the details...from what I heard
months ago...were that Papy couldn't do another sim that has the large # of drivers
that say Hawaii or NROS have.  So the 8 player network stuff would probably be ok.
But then looking at the cpu etc that gpl seems to want/need...how many cars could a
33.6  connection handle??  Probably 8 would be very rare...like if the host was
comming in on a T1 line.
