Woudln't it be good if they did a late 70s game in the manner of GPL -
Imaging competing against Andretti, Villeneuve, Reutemann, Lauda and
so on in the Saudi Leyland Williams, the Ferraris and the Pamalat clad
cars...

Fantastic.

You could even be James Hunt and prepare for the race with a few pints
:-)

Owing to the fact that it was customary for Mr Hunt to throw up behind the
pits before a race, he NEVER touched a drop before getting into a racecar.

He smoked a joint instead so as not to waste it <G>

I've been sayin' this for a while.  Think of those turbo giants flying
around the track.  I'm drooling right now...

Congratulations to Juan Montoya, 2000 Indy 500 Champ!
"While the Indianapolis 500 victory is an impressive achievement
one must remember that this is not the race it once was. The opposition
was really not up to much in the overall, global scheme of things. The
Indy racing League field, whether Tony George and his people like it or
not,
are not good enough to make it in CART-level competition..." -The Mole (F1

says...

Absolutely right - and David Kaemmer said in a recent interview that
they'd had great success modelling a winged car in the GPL engine.

You could even use most of the same tracks, with some updated trackside
scenery and added armco barriers / catch fencing.

I don't think Papyrus would do it though, it would have to be a user TC.

I think we'd all be in for quite a shock!  A 1000+ HP with a powerband
about as wide as Olive Oil's hips.(Popeye the Sailor reference for the
cartoon challenged)
Even with tons of downforce we might all go running back to the GPL cars,
that are "easy" to drive...hehe
