OT: What a race

Well I was finally gonna get a chance to see a tape of the f1 race....so
Tuesday night I fired up the TV and WHAT a race!  6 competitors nose to tail
for almost the entire race.  Lead changes all over the place.  A track that
rewards sheer speed.  Then the leader lost the race in the last 10 feet when
his tire broke loose.  It was AMA Superbikes on Speedvision...now that I
caught that exciting event, I'll go watch the f1 tape....think it will
compare?    From start to finish a fantastic battle.

Yep. And next year they'll butcher the track and it'll be another Magny Cours!

Hooray to F1!

That must have been the race at Brainerd where the lead changed twice in the
final corner! Great race!!!

The kid that lost the lead Curt Roberts I think, any relation to King Kenny.

Son,  and that makes him the brother of the current 500cc GP champion
Kenny Roberts Jr.

Five kids were racing their tricycles around the block yesterday. Close
battle between all five until one of them hit a newspaper and barrel rolled
four times. The other four were neck and neck right up to the finish line.
Now that's racing! F1 is over for me.

Miguel DuHammel ....son of Yvon DuHammel of Canada land finished third by
.000000000000001 over Matt Mladin.(Aussie,?) Yvon was the first sucessful
Kawasaki road racer in the States..back in the 70's.  .  Certainly AMA
doesn't have the history of F1 but as I recall, at least one if not more
sucessful Motorcycle road racers also did well in F1.
Is F1 over?  no...but a good race CAN be 5 kids on trikes.  I hadn't
planned on watching the AMA race.  I'm glad I did.  At least they don't have
to worry about cooking an engine while refuelling.  Come to think of
it...most other series don't either.  ;)
I'm a race fan first...a series fan second...to focus on ONE type of
racing over all others would only limit my enjoyment.  btw...I did enjoy the
F1 race after the cycles.

Obviously the venue you chose to attend needs better track marshalling!

I was just poking fun, nothing morel. I enjoy reading your posts.

BTW, I felt guilty laughing at the poor kid who rolled his bike........until
he took off his helmet and I realized it was ymenard. He immediately blamed
his mechanics for a too stiff suspension.

Hehehe <roll eyes> nice try.

I'll always admit it's my fault, I feel guilty for myself most of the time
when I wreck.  Except when it's in HGNS (inside joke).  But I'm aggressive.
You've never raced against me, so you're just lying yet another time.

What track?  Even though I think the bike racers are CRAZY, the races are fun
to watch...<g>
