NASCAR 3 ?

I want to buy the game NASCAR 3  my computer is a pentium II 350 mhz  with
32 Mb ram. I was told if you don't have 64 mb ram not to buy the game as it
won't work the greatest. Is there any truth to this?  Also is there any good
websites dedicated to N3.  Thanks for your help.

It should work fine, the engine of N3 is fairly old and was desinged
at a time when 16MB-32MB was standard.  However, considering you will
be using Win98 or 95, and with Win 2000 coming up a Memory upgrade
would definelty give you a nice performance boost.  With RAM prices
coming down you should really upgrade to at least 64 and 128
preferably.  You really should have had 64 or 128 megs of memory
installed when you bought the PC, since you have a decent PII 350
processor.  Don't forget video cards, have a great deal to do with
performance also, but RAM is your first bet.

I run N3 on a celeron 400 with 32 megs of ram and get 27 fps to 30 fps at all
tracks at 800X600 resoultion with my voodoo2 card with A3D 16 bit sounds, all
reflections, 7 drivers ahead, 5 behind, and all graphics options on.  However I
am planning to add another 32 megs Ram as soon as I can since I saw a
tremendous improvement when I went to 64 megs on my old P-166...this even
seemed to help my lap times.

You should have little or no problem running it...

However, you may want to go ahead and give 'overclocking' a try, especially
if you bought your computer before August of 1998 (PII350s are MUCH easier
to overclock if they were made before then), though a later one may work
just as well - mine is like a November/December '98 PII350, it's been
humming along at 466 mHz for a year (!) now...see sites like
