Well these 1:17's in montreal are not race setups. These sort of times
are only achieveable by making a hotlap setup in other words very low
ride hight where the plank is wearing after only one lap. You couldn't
actually use this setup in a race.
A good time in montreal for a quick race would be mid 121's and very
high 1:20's. In a 100% race 1:22's. Mind you these are my times so if
anyone does better in races congratulations becuase i've done everything
to my setup you can imagine. Besides these are what the computer does at
ace level using the pieter's 97 carset. So it would be pretty stupid if
you could be 5secs faster than the computer. After all this is a RACING
game.
Now about your 1:26 at montreal that sounds like you havn't got a setup
or if you do its a very bad one. On pieter's grand prix2 page there is
an excellent race setup guide.
By the if your wondering i use a hyper stimulator for a control. Its a
cokpit you sit and drive. Cost $1800 dollars but worth ever cent. Check
it out at http://connexus.apana.org.au/~natpro/hyper/
