I downloaded it late last night and haven't had much time to mess with it yet.
It does run very well on my PII 400 with a Pure 3D card. I really like the
Formula Ford and the Force Feedback is some of the best I've felt yet. You can
feel the front end get light when understeering and there are good collision
effects when banging wheels with another competitor. The games feels much like
TOCA but looks a whole lot better. I'll be buying it when available here in the
US, hopefully through Interact CD as an import.

I love it. They took the general fun to play ability of TOCA 1 and fixed
some of the problems. Running it on a TNT card at 1280x1024 is awesome. It
ran smooth on my Celeron "450". I have yet to test it on my p200. The
computer cars no longer make it their sole purpose to bump you off. There is
a little car setup but not too much to make it a full time job like GPL. The
track in the demo is smoother than TOCA 1 which is nice. I thought some of
the tracks in TOCA 1 were very bumpy. I have managed to finish 3rd so far in
the demo starting from last. The sound is a little better also. I can hear
multiple cars and sounds from the sides around hairpins ect. The replay
feature is great! I always wished for this in the first game. The graphics
and gameplay adjustments are much better also. It looks like you will be
able to tailor it to your ability quite well. Quite an improvement overall.
I havent seen anything which seems to detract rather than add to the game.
Job well done codemasters.

So far, I've not been able to play the damn thing, because I thought I'd
dive into it at work, while on hold with some inhumane insurance company,
and discovered that it has no support for keyboard control.  You can't even
start the program unless you have a joystick hooked up!

C'mon, guys - I even play GPL on a keyboard at work!!

Well Iv'e only driven for about an hour and I never drove toca1 and have
been driving GPL for months now so I may be a bit ..uhhh.. biased. It is
fun! Quite a change of pace for me. Sound is ok but it's hard to hear
your car in a pack. Graphics are ok too, some oddities appeared but are
most likely demo related, the overall effect is pretty cool. The physics
are decidely arcade like compared to gpl, the car leans in the turns in
an odd way and the handling is more like NFS. It took me a while to get
the steering configured reasonably well (still not right), you must
quite the racethen sort through a lot of menu's to get to the
cali/config screen, then go back through all that and reload the race,
obviously not a concern once it's right. I'll definitely drive some more
and consider it but with SCGT and TramsAm coming out it will be tough to
decide. Very good for touring car buffs.
Maybe I should get the TPTCC patch for N2 since I haven't driven that
for months.

Are you sure? I certainly saw a keyboard controller option, though I didn't
mess with it since my wheel was hooked up.

I did.

Mine gives me no option for keyboard control.  It won't go past the setup
screen.
