Ok, we have the great GP2 (with GP3 coming), the fantastic GPL, Viper
Racing, with LeMans and Trans-Am coming---- IF ONLY someone would produce a
sim based on the CanAm series of 1966-1974 (Group 7), I could die a happy
man. And stop spending so much money on these damn games.
Imagine driving the 900hp TurboPanzer L&M Porsche of Mark Donohue, or the
Chapparal 2E (or the banned 2J). The beautiful McLaren M8D.... well, I can
only dream that one day it will come to pass.

Imagine driving Mark Donohue's 917/30 twin turbo reported to put out near
1500HP.....still the most powerful road racing machine of all time!!!

Being 51 years old,the golden era of racing for me is 1965-75. This
is the racing that I love the best. As you said,we already have gpl
which I spend almost all night racing, and Trans-Am 68-72 on the way. I
think about the possibility of a Can-Am sim becoming reality within a
few years,as sim makers are constantly looking for new race series to
produce. And with the success of gpl, maybe they will see the light.

What I would like to see is a sim with the different classes running at the
same time.  Sorta like the SCGT where you can have 3(?) classes, GT1, GT2,
GT3..

Something to the effect of a GPLs GP1, GP2, GP3 would be awesome.  IMO it
would make for a fun race to be able to run for not only the win, But, if you
ran the slower cars you could run for the Class win AND the place over all AND
the win.

Or even better yet..  be able to buy the original SIm with defaulted cars.
ie: a Lotus GP1,2,3, A Ferrari GP1,2,3.  Then be able to download other cars.
ie: Geo Storm, VW Bug, ect and be able to run all of these together.  Of coarse
I wouldn't want to download a VW and have it perform like a Ferrari, It would
have to have the characteristics of a VW Bug.

Just dreaming I guess,
Mike Barlow

AMEN!!!!  If Papy ever did a CanAm sim, I think I would be able to stop
buying games forever.  Hell, I'd be overjoyed if we simply end up with
a CanAm car set for GPL a year or so from now.

BTW - I nearly (well, you know) in my pants last night when I discoverd
that Exoto was going to be doing a series 1/18th scale CanAm models.  I
will have them.  Oh yes, I WILL have them!

I couldn't agree more.  Jim Hall was my first sports hero.  I would love
to be able to drive a Chaparral around Riverside, Laguna Seca, and all
the other tracks of that series.

Amen.

I hope someone in the game industry is listening. This type of game
should be produced. Along with F1 from the Turbo Era.

Sounds cool to me too. Now you've got me dreaming.
