Infogrames is porting the Playstation game "Le Mans 24-hour" to the PC,
according to GameSpot.  It will feature 12 tracks (huh? I'd have thought Le
Mans was THE track), 70 cars, and a physics model that wouldn't tax your
grandmother.  More info here:

But isn't this the game that came out on PC ages ago, it's still on my
shelf. A bit of fun but nothing to write home about.

Andi.

No, a seperate team of developers developed a console version of it totally
different from the PC version. It has pretty good physics for a console
game, but it definitely won't stack up to our sims we have now. Quite fun
though. (I have it on Dreamcast BTW)

Thanks,
Alex

If you guys want a Prototype racer, then this may whet your
whistle....one of my league members sent this link to me...I haven't tried
it yet...but they do have a pretty fast server.

Dave,

Alison Hine tells me she's quite smitten with this GT-car "mod" for F12001.
Apparently Doug Arnao (one of the GPL beta testers and a fine real-world
racer) has had a hand in the development.  Since the "new, improved" version
of the game (F1 2002) is due out in a few weeks, maybe this could be a
serviceable version of WSC until the real thing comes along.  That is to
say, IF the real thing EVER does come along.

Wow, Dave, thanks for that link.  I tried a few laps around Spa in the
Audi earlier this evening, very impressive!  This is exactly what I have
been wanting ever since SCGT.  Now we just need Mosport, Road Atlanta,
or Laguna Seca for F1 2001, and I will completely forget about WSC!
