Hi all,
The announcement a couple of days ago about a N2 track pack containing
many of the Busch Grand National tracks and drivers as got me
thinking.... How will this affect the NRO, if at all ?
If NASCAR has given Papy the rights to the series does this mean that
the NRO may offer 2 divisions for potential racers?
I mean, it would be kind of cool to be in two leagues, one simulating
the Busch GN championship and then join another league with another
set of people that are running a simulated Winston Cup championship.
Each league would have different people meaning that each league has a
different feel..
As to the official NRO league, (the one said to be "another NASCAR
series"), will this mean that people could sign up for both? Or might
they treat it more like a division1 (WC) and division2 (Busch) and
have deals where the top or bottom (say, 1000 (?)) drivers get
promoted or regulated. I guess this may take a few seasons because
who's to say "you" can start in the WC league in the inaugural season
while "you" have to start in the Busch (div2).
Also what does this say about the start time of the NRO?? If the Busch
Championship is to be incorporated then this means "a fall release"
will be the earliest we see the NRO...
I mean I know the NRO will be the most amazing thing if it gets going
well, but you have to think about how it will work. Let's just suppose
that on release 30,000 people (very rough!??) will want to use the
system and of that 13,000 want to sign up to become a NASCAR driver
and use the actual NASCAR/NRO league. 13000 / 40 (drivers per race)
means 325 races running maybe simultaneously and various factors being
taken into account to work out the overall leader etc...
Taking this into account, simulating the Busch series would half this
number and if they split each of these series into 4 mini-NRO series
to produces 8 overall, this would mean only 41 races per league and
only 1625 racers.
With this system, a driver could be drawn to start in NRO/Busch GN
Division2 and would have to prove himself by finishing in the top
so-many to get promoted to Div1, then get promoted from that to get
into the bottom NRO/WC division and on and on if he has any hope of
being overall champion of the top NRO division for one season, and
becoming the Champion of the Sim-Racing World! :)
Anyway, these are just my ideas and speculation on the future and NRO.
I'm not saying my example is the way things will/should be, it
probably has huge flaws itself... That's even if the Track Pack will
have anything to do with the NRO at all. <g>
Hopefully this will start a decent thread of ideas!
