Be honest, did you expect them to lose from Holland? :)
Surely the 'best team in the world since 1998' would win even without
their star players? Does the French team really depend that much on a
couple of star players?

Barthez, Lizerazu, Zidane, Anelka, Henry, Deschamps, Blanc, Thuram, were all
rested, and I'm sure I've forgotton some. Ah forget it, you'll soon see (I'm
no Francophile, btw, but it seems daft of you to gloat over that particular
win!)

I will be honest: yes, i expected that they lost
because before the game,
some french players said they were not motivated
by this game because
the result was not important and they prefer to
stay in their Bruges' hotel
and beat the Holland in the finale. After that,
the journalist said:
"what ?!? You don't matter to win this game ?"
then Zidane said:
"Euuuhhhh, no, no, we are professionnels, we play
in order to win but........
this game is meanless".

And like Colin said, it's not just a couple of
stars but 80 % of the team.
If you say that a team should win even if they
missed some players, you are
totally wrong because amputate some key players at
all others Euro 2000 teams
and you will see they will not play at the same
level.
Roumany play very well vs England but, without 5
stars of their team, they were ejected
in 1/4 finals vs Italy 2-0.

And, to come back one more time to this
france-holland game, the France lead 2-1 and
Dugarry
had a BIG occasion to score in the first half but
he thinked he was offside and he missed the goal.
At 3-1, it would be not the same game.

Just wait and see.................

hey, Colin, you know very well our team :-)
!!!!!
I think France in 2000 is even better that the 98
World Champion team.
The 98's team had a very strong defense but a weak
offense.
To give a grade to them, i will give 95%  in
defense and 60% in offense.
This year, i will give a 88% in defense but a 92%
in offense.
The duo Anelka-Henry is terrific !!!!!! And they
are still very young.
In the 2002 World Cup, they will be awesome.
