Asus A7V Question.......Help?

by Glockenspie » Sun, 11 Feb 2001 12:38:53

Someone earlier mentioned something about updated bios for this mb
(ver. 1005 I think?). Anyway, a few questions.........

1. Will the updated bios solve lock up problems I've been having?
Doesn't seem to matter what game/app I'm using. CPU will lock up in my
email program, HH2001, PGA 2000, MS paint, Winzip, etc.

2. Where can I find these updated bios?

3. Are there install/update instructions with the updated bios? I've
never updated bios on a cpu before.

Hopefully someone can help :)

Thanks,

Todd

Asus A7V Question.......Help?

What kind of memory are you using? I also have a A7V (Duron 750) and had all
of my programs (especially games) lockup and freeze withen minutes. The
problem turned out to be the cheap, generic memory that I had in the
motherboard. The A7V is a VERY picky board when it comes to memory. Make
sure the memory is a name brand or at least non generic stick (in other
words it comes in a box or plastic package) This should solve your
problems...it did mine!!
