You my friend must have an unbelievably slow P180 or something else wrong
with your system.
GP2 runs great on my P166 Matrox Mill system with just the sky turned off
and a few details in the mirrors turned off.
Back to the original person's question, all three are great games
it just depends on which kind of racing you like.
I own all 3, and I play different ones depending on my mood.
Both GP2 and Nascar2 have great graphics with GP2 having a bit better
physics and sound IMHO, although the damage model on GP2 is too forgiving
for collisions.
Nascar2 is great if you feel like racing ovals.... GP2 is great when
you feel like racing non-ovals, ICR2 is great when you feel like doing
a combination of the two.
Really comparing one against the other is like comparing
apples to oranges, why must people always argue about which one is
better since each one of these terrific games strives to simulate
completely different race series and car models, and each has
a different focus as far as playability and simulation.
Personally if I had to choose I would probably choose GP2 first since my
favorite racing series is Formula1 and that is my admitted bias, but Nascar2
would be very close behind, and ICR2 is starting to feel a bit dated as far
as the driving model goes, but it is still fun to take a car out on the great
Elkhart Lake track or Laguna Seca now and then.
Really if you are a driving sim fan like me you will end up buying all three
eventually and each one has redeeming qualities that will bring you
back for more.
To start with just ask yourself which race series you like most
and that should give you a point to start with.
Here's hoping we get MORE types of sims to choose from (i.e. motorcycle etc.)
and less bashing between different auto sims (GP2 vs Nascar2 vs ICR2 vs NFS.)
Cheers.
