NASCAR? ON FORCE FEEDBACK
RACING WHEEL
Hillsboro, Oregon, May 28, 1998 -- ThrustMaster, Inc. (NASDAQ:
TMSR) a leading manufacturer of game controllers for PC-based
entertainment officially licensed by NASCAR, has expanded its
current
lineup to create an official FORCE feedback racing wheel for the PC
-
the NASCAR FORCE GT? by ThrustMaster. The NASCAR FORCE
GT is expected to ship to retail accounts in the third quarter,
during the
upcoming holiday selling season of 1998, with a retail price under

Computer racers can now take their driving passion to a completely
new
level of e***ment with force feedback technology - where they feel
the
action - not just watch it. The NASCAR FORCE GT by ThrustMaster
will allow drivers to interact within the game scenario, and
actually feel
the sensation of the track. Rubbing other cars and scrapping track
walls
offer the most jarring effects, while more subtle forces such as
understeer and road textures are combined to make the most immersive
*** experience yet. Never before have NASCAR fans been able to
experience such sensations from a computer racing wheel.
"The NASCAR FORCE GT from ThrustMaster will take racing fans to
a whole new level." stated Louis Ashford, design engineer for the
NASCAR FORCE GT. "Giving NASCAR fans a fantastic racing
experience was one of our major goals in designing this wheel,"
added
Alan Smith, product marketing manager for ThrustMaster. "The force
feedback effects will bring them one step closer to the track. We
look
forward to bringing this innovative product to NASCAR racing
enthusiasts."
"Our continued relationship with ThrustMaster keeps PC racing fans
on
the cutting edge of simulated racing," stated George Pyne, NASCAR
Vice President of Marketing.
Celebrating its 50th Anniversary in 1998, NASCAR is considered
Americas fastest growing sport. NASCAR racing attracted 11 million
fans and 183 million television viewers in 1997. NASCAR has thir***
divisions of racing which compete in more than 2,200 events each
year.
