GPL-did I miss something?

Help! I load the demo seems to go through the system test fine. Loads fine. But
when I go to start the game it goes through the "Sierra Sports" Ok so far. Then
it goes to a main page then on to the calibration screen. Figured thats normal
since I havent calibrated the wheel yet. But when it gets to the calibration
screen the number on the axis's are going nuts and I havent touched anything
yet! Then when I hit a mouse key or any key it all disapears and I back to my
windows screen! What!!!!!!!!!!!!???????? Am I doing everything right or am I
missing something? I know my computer is super but damn i should be able to at
least start the game a little to check it out. I am quite a ways under the Mhz
(intel pentium 100mhz) but shouldnt it at least start? Any help or am I s.o.l?

Beats me, Bud.  I've run into the same problem with a 300mhz P2.  All I
can do is drive into the fence.  Any advice will certainly be welcome!

I had that joystick screen problem and a scrambled video problem. I THINK I fixed
them by deselecting the boxes in the advanced Voodoo 2 panel and removing my
steering wheel from the Win 95 joystick panel and then adding it and recalibrating
it. Hope this helps.

change your screen resolution to 800 x600. it will get you past the calibration
screen.

Hey, at least you got dumped back to Win95! My system locked so hard, I
had to do a system reset. Here's what was the work around for me: Upon
entering the calibration for the first time, use the mouse to click on
"ok" (be quick!). Then change the joystick driver from "optimized" to
"Direct Input". You should now be able to calibratre properly and run
the demo.

I think you will be very lucky if gpl runs on a p100? but hey, give
it a try?

When you get to the calibration screen, turn your wheel in both
directions, and press your pedals and buttons, (not all at the same
time!) and the numbers should then settle down and correspond to your
controls. Why do you want to press keys when you are calibrating a
wheel and pedals? Anyway, when you have finished calibrating click on
the ok button at the bottom centre of the screen, and the wheel
should then work fine.

When I click on OK, it either locks up solid or jumps back into windows.
Using P-II 300 with Screamin 3D, 64 meg ram. "Can't get to Direct Input".
