Does the demo keep stats on laps, or are you guys just keeping track
yourselves?

Well, I did a 2:18:6 with the default setup. Just realized that I had the ABS
on though.  Ah well.

Keeping track of everything you spend's a great way of learning
to stretch your money if you don't have a lot. I can seriously recommend
it to anyone, whether it's ***or not :-)

I finally got 2:15.9 after about five hours of driving and setting up the
car. I also managed a 2:19.something which included a 360 spin in the bus
stop... :/

The default setup understeered way too much for my liking, so I ended up
reducing the front antiroll-bar and the diff locking (both coast and power).
That at least seemed to help, or then it had a purely psychological
effect... I've also gradually moved the brake balance more to the rear, and
I'm currently at 51/49 (f/r) and I'm still getting no instability while
braking. I actually find that kinda odd, 'cause in GPL I'm in deep trouble
if I set the front bias below 54%, even with a non-alien diff.

In which case grasshopper, you have much to learn :-) I can't see the
point in recording it all if you don't use that record as a tool to try
and help you predict and therefore control your expenditure. Rich folk
don't need to bother... not until they realise how much their accountant's
stealing anyway ;-)

The same suggestion is made to people trying to lose weight.  Write down
everything you eat.  The theory being that most people don't realize exactly
how much they eat, and writing it all down shows that they eat more than they
thought.  For some reason, that doesn't affect me either.  I know *exactly*
what I ate, but it didn't stop me from doing it...
Same with spending.  Of course in this case they're related because I spend
money on fast food...<g>

I just looked at that screen.  It shows me as having done 47 laps, with a PB of
2:14.xx.  Unless the Driving Gnomes are using my system after I go to bed,
that's not even CLOSE to being right...
I know I've only done 8 laps with a 2:51 PB.

The player comes preset with that PB.  You can manually reset it to some
ridiculously high figure, and your next outing will populate it with one of
your times.  It's the SIM_GT2003.bch file in the player directory assuming
you drive the Lister in Sim mode.

Never mind your PB.  How is it you've only run 8 laps? :)
