GPL and logging on

Help!!!! everytime I try the GPL demo it logs me onto the net.  Why is
this?  Is there a way of stopping it?  If it was designed this way it seems
pretty silly to me.   Call me crazy but I really like this game, kind of neat
for a change to drive a different style racing.  Seems like my lap times are
way slower than even Nascar(though the track seems similar but a bit
different), boy has open wheel racing ever advanced.  Anyone have any ideas
what tracks will be included with full game, and cars?  I don't understand
why some people are pissed with this fun little sim.

Press the escape key when you get to the Sierra Sports splash screen and you
will go to the main menu of GPL.Turn modem off as well.
Sid.

Like Quake, GPL is a network ready game.

I recall with Quake that if you have "connect to the internet as needed"
checked then Quake, GPL, even Microsoft Outlook! will attempt to connect
you to the internet as part of your networking setup.

Of course if you uncheck the box you will have to make your dial up
connection yourself each time you connect to the 'Net.

I have not seen this since I rebuilt my machine with the latest version of
Win95, so I guess the problem goes away with OSR2.

Anybody confirm this?

Cheers

Tony
