N4, Is it any good?

I see Nascar 4 has been released in the UK. What i would like to know is it
worth buying. I see a lof of posts about problems with the game. I have a
PIII 500 with a voodoo 5 5500 card. Will i be disapointed or is it worth
getting.
Is there a downloadable demo available anywere?

Thanks

My only complaint is with the poor controller feel.

You'll have to turn everything off and only be able to drive with about
15 AI cars to achieve 22-30fps.  In training mode you can turn on
eye-candy.

In short, you'll need a faster graphics card to enjoy it to it's fullest
potential or a screamer PC ;)

Jason.
Athalon 1.333GHz, V5 (25 to 60fps everything maxed)

Hi Kevin,
if you order it through eb.co.uk it is 16.99 including
postage. I'm running it on a celeron at 416mhz and a voodoo 3 2000 agp which
is great for gpl but not quite fast enough for n4 but still raceable. Im
sure you won't regret buying the game for your system. With a Microsoft ff
wheel the control is similar to gpl.

The offline experience is not very good.  There are many problems with the
AI cars that still have not been addressed by the current patch.  In effect,
completing a realistic race is near to impossible at most tracks.

I second that - run, don't walk, and get it.

There is nothing as far as simulation and graphics that comes close to N4. I
have NHeat and dont PLAY it. As far as I'm concerned AI are eye candy in
this sim, I could care less about AI when there is mutliplayer to be used.
Its nice to see that no time has been spent on the AI, and 300 patches arent
needed for  multiplayer to be playable.
Too bad GPL's 14.2 mile Nurburgring Dat is 1/3 the size of  N4's 1.949
mile Sears Point Dat. ;)

   Have Fun!

It's ok. Much prefer GPL.
